Through funding from European Social Fund (ESF) in 2013 we were able to open an IT Resource Centre. This service attracts job seeker clients and successful weekly Job Club operates providing assistance with job applications, interview advice and CV preparation.
Our vulnerable and homeless clients increasingly need support and access to IT services due to the changes in the Welfare Reform Act. This project is in full cooperation with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and our local job centre. First Wessex, the largest registered social housing provider in our area, match funded the project so it can run for eighteen months. Following a recent audit, ESF has invited us to apply to extend the project during 2014-2015.
Due to the success of this first community resource we have started building on our Journey Programme to support the wider community in need.
